April 30 – May 3, 2027 | Rocky Ridge Country Lodge | Mountain View, Alberta
There is something powerful about the place where the wide-open prairie rises to meet the Rocky Mountains.
The horizon expands. The pace slows. The stars seem a little brighter.
Where the Prairies Meet the Peaks: Dharma of the Stars Retreat is an intimate four-day, three-night retreat created as a place to step away from the noise of everyday life and return to yourself.
Set in the quiet countryside of Mountain View, Alberta, at Rocky Ridge Country Lodge, we will gather in a small group of no more than 12 people for a weekend of movement, nourishment, self-discovery, nature and deep rest. There will be beautiful experiences woven throughout our days, but there will also be space. Space to sit outside with a cup of tea. Space to read. Space to journal. Space to walk. Space to connect. Space to gather around the fire.
And space to simply do nothing at all.
Because sometimes the deepest transformation happens when we finally become quiet enough to hear ourselves again.

Rocky Ridge Country Lodge | Mountain View, Alberta | Just 20 minutes from Waterton National Park
Our retreat takes place in the peaceful countryside of Southern Alberta, near the small hamlet of Mountain View and only about 20 minutes from the spectacular landscape of Waterton National Park. Here, prairie stretches toward the horizon while the Rocky Mountain peaks rise in the distance.
Rather than staying in the bustle of a resort town, we will have the quiet of a country lodge—a place where mornings can begin slowly, meals are shared together and evenings end around the fire beneath the open Alberta sky. This is a retreat where the landscape itself becomes part of the experience.
*Because this experience is limited to only 12 guests, accommodation options are available on a first-reserved basis. See reservation details.
Your own private room with a queen bed, offering a quiet personal space to retreat to throughout the weekend. Perfect for those who value having their own room at the end of the day.
A wonderful choice for friends travelling together or guests who enjoy the connection and affordability of shared accommodation without sacrificing a sense of privacy.
The loft rooms offer a unique balance between shared accommodation and personal space. Each loft room has a lower-level queen bed and an upper-level queen bed, with the upper sleeping area accessed by a sturdy attached pine ladder. The separate levels create the feeling of having your own private sleeping space, even while sharing the room. Each loft room also has its own private bathroom.
Shared accommodation with individual single beds. This is our most affordable option and is ideal for friends attending together or anyone comfortable sharing their retreat space.
You don’t need to be an experienced yogi. You don’t need to understand your astrology chart. You don’t need to know what a Gene Key is.
You simply need to be curious about yourself.
Perhaps you’re in a season of change. Perhaps you’ve spent so much time caring for everything around you that you’re craving a few days to turn your attention inward.
Or perhaps nothing is wrong at all.
Maybe you simply want to spend four beautiful days eating nourishing food, moving your body, learning something new, sitting around a fire, looking toward the mountains and remembering how good it feels to have nowhere else you need to be.
This retreat is about depth without heaviness, spirituality without rigidity, movement without performance and rest without guilt.
Every meal will be personally crafted and prepared by Sandy using whole-food, plant-based ingredients selected for nourishment, flavour and optimal nutritional benefit. Expect colourful, abundant meals built around vegetables, fruits, whole grains, legumes, herbs, seeds, nuts and other nutrient-dense plant foods.
The intention is food that leaves you feeling nourished, satisfied and energized for everything the retreat has to offer. From morning nourishment to beautiful shared dinners, food becomes another expression of the retreat philosophy:
Take care of the body that carries you through this life.
All retreat meals are included.

At the heart of this retreat is the exploration of who you are beneath all the roles, expectations and conditioning you’ve accumulated along the way. We’ll bring together ancient yogic philosophy with astrology, the Gene Keys and intuitive practices to explore ourselves through several different lenses.
One of our central teachings will weave the Yamas of Yoga with astrological archetypes. We’ll explore themes such as:
Through astrology and the Gene Keys, we’ll explore how these universal teachings may express themselves differently within each of us.
The intention isn’t to become someone new. It is to understand yourself deeply enough to live more fully as who you already are.
We’ll begin our mornings with mindful yoga designed to awaken the body, circulate energy and prepare us for the day. Expect accessible movement, breath, awareness and moments of stillness rather than performance or perfection.
As evening arrives, we’ll move in the opposite direction. Slow down. Soften. Receive.
Gentle Yin practices will prepare the body for guided Yoga Nidra accompanied by the beautiful resonance of singing bowls, creating an intentional transition into rest.
Through experiential workshops, we’ll use astrology and the Gene Keys as tools for deeper self-understanding and self-love. We’ll explore our patterns, gifts, shadows, relationships with ourselves and the places where life may be asking us to grow.
No previous astrology or Gene Keys knowledge is required.
Throughout the weekend we’ll explore practical techniques you can take home with you. Breathwork, mindful movement, grounding practices, sound, nature and nervous system regulation techniques will be woven throughout our time together.
We’ll get our hands into the plants. You’ll learn about selected herbs and their traditional uses while creating something of your own to take home. Herbalism becomes another way of reconnecting with nature—not simply learning about plants, but developing a relationship with them.
Through meditation, journaling, contemplation and intuitive exercises, we’ll practice listening inwardly and learning to trust the quieter voice within ourselves.
Nourishing herbal teas and beautiful elixirs will be woven throughout our days. A warm cup becomes its own little ritual—something to hold while we gather, contemplate, talk or simply look toward the mountains.
As the day comes to a close, we’ll gather around the fire. These evenings are intentionally simple: warmth, conversation, connection and the expansive Alberta sky overhead. Come sit by the flames, share stories or simply enjoy the quiet.
There will also be periods where nothing is scheduled. Those spaces are intentional.
